# Visual Scheme Guide — DMF Template

## Key symbol
- `img/dmf.png` is the project's key scheme symbol. It is used in the header seal (`.seal`) on every page. Keep it as the single authoritative brand mark; do not substitute or recolor it.

## Sourcing new images
Prioritize high-quality, theme-relevant imagery for the mining/community development context:

1. Government & public portals (preferred, license-safe):
   - https://www.mines.gov.in (MoM guidelines, sector imagery)
   - https://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in / BhuvanLite (Maharashtra district maps, satellite tiles)
   - https://commons.wikimedia.org (CC-licensed Maharashtra/India development photos)
   - data.gov.in (open data charts)
2. Stock libraries (check license):
   - Unsplash, Pexels (free, commercial-use OK) — search "mining community", "rural development India", "water supply", "healthcare rural".
   - Adobe Stock / Shutterstock (licensed) for editorial-grade sector photos.
3. Sector-specific illustrations:
   - Drinking water, health, education, women & children, skill development, sanitation, housing, agriculture, animal husbandry, infrastructure, irrigation, watershed.

## Combining with dmf.png
- Use `dmf.png` as the anchor brand mark in the header seal; keep surrounding imagery thematic but neutral so it does not compete.
- Place sector photos inside cards/panels with a 4:3 crop, rounded corners (12px), and a subtle overlay in `--teal`/`--navy` to tie to brand palette.
- Maintain contrast: brand mark on light background (#f8fbf9), photos on white cards with `#e6edef` borders.
- Never distort `dmf.png`; use `object-fit: contain` and consistent padding.
- Provide alt text referencing the sector/district; keep file names descriptive (e.g. `sector-water.jpg`).
- Store new images under `src/main/resources/img/` (and mirror to `static/img/` if used by the static preview).

## Recommended priority images
1. Hero banner — mining-affected community development (wide, 1920×600).
2. Sector cards — one photo per priority sector (11 high + 4 other).
3. District teaser — Maharashtra map already provided as `svg/maharashtra.svg`.
4. Grievance/citizen section — diverse citizen photo.
5. Footer/attribution — small partner/government seals (license permitting).
